About this video

A workshop-style walkthrough covers the tools recruiters and sourcers actually use day to day, not novelty tricks with no practical application. The focus stays on workflow: how tooling saves time across sourcing, messaging, screening, and candidate communication.

  • Scraping extensions: Instant Data Scraper for one-click grabs, Data Miner for building custom scrapers, and Link Gopher for pulling every link off a page, useful for x-ray searches.
  • LinkedIn automation: tools that automate connection requests and follow-up messaging from a CSV list, plus a discussion of a scraping tool built by a fellow recruiter that pulls full profile histories from search results, moving candidate review into spreadsheets where sorting and filtering cut review time dramatically compared to clicking through profiles one by one.
  • Clay: a spreadsheet platform with built-in API integrations that can pull GitHub repository contributors beyond the hundred-person limit shown on GitHub itself, or download an entire Twitter following, then enrich that data with names, companies, emails, and locations.
  • Google Sheets fundamentals: sorting by years of experience, company, or title; filters to hide or show rows by value; data validation to standardize messy inputs like inconsistent spellings of a technology name and to build clean drop-downs.
  • Boolean Builder: a free tool for converting long pasted lists, like a list of company names, into properly formatted OR, AND, or NOT strings without manual typing.
  • Workflow automation: Zapier and Make for connecting apps and triggering actions between platforms, Octoparse for more complex scraping needs, and UiPath for full robotic process automation that can operate applications, websites, and files the way a person would with a mouse and keyboard.
  • Email and messaging automation platforms used to move candidates through outreach sequences without manual follow-up.

Each tool is tied to a specific, repeatable task rather than presented as a demo trick, with an emphasis on what actually gets used in production sourcing work and how much time each one returns.
