About this video

A live sourcing demonstration walks through an outbound recruiting platform that searches profiles across dozens of sites at once, including LinkedIn, GitHub, Stack Overflow, AngelList, Crunchbase, and Google Scholar, folding them into a single meta-search so sourcers aren't locked into one network.

The workflow starts with project folders named for the client and role, each mapped to a hiring-process template with stages such as Good Fit, Contacted, Replied, Introduced, and Pre-Approved. Candidates move through those stages automatically as campaigns go out and replies come in, so a recruiter can answer a hiring manager's status question in seconds.

Before any candidate search begins, an insights tab builds a market snapshot: filtering by title, location, required skills, years of experience, and education to see the full size of a talent pool, plus breakdowns of top employers, average compensation, and workforce diversity. The goal is landing on a pool in the few-hundred range, enough to work with but not so large that outreach can't be personalized.

Once the market is understood, AI sourcing kicks in. A handful of sample profiles get manually rated as good fits or not, with reasons attached, such as a candidate lacking hands-on scientific work versus just analyst experience, or too long a tenure in one role. That calibration teaches the system what "good" looks like, and it returns a ranked list built on the same criteria.

Outreach templates favor a casual, honest tone over polish: an unpolished-looking opening, an upfront summary of the role, and three bullets answering the only question a candidate actually cares about, what's in it for them. Open and response rates get tracked across campaigns, with the point made that a lower reply rate can mean the message was targeted enough to filter out the wrong people rather than a failure.

Practical points covered include:

  • Using project folders and naming conventions as a daily to-do list for pipeline targets
  • Reading a market snapshot before sourcing individual candidates
  • Calibrating an AI model with five or so rated profiles before letting it surface a ranked list
  • Writing outbound templates that lead with a short, honest value proposition
  • Tracking open rates, response rates, and weekly outreach volume per campaign
